I am thinking of selling ebooks and taking prepublication orders for my books on my 2 sites. How do I go about using Let’s Encrypt?

Do I need https? Do I need any plugins?

Hello Stephen,

Thank you for contacting our Help Desk.

In order to install a free Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate, please log into the cPanel for your account > Let’s Encrypt.

Then simply follow the instructions provided in our tutorial:

https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/cpanel/lets-encrypt.htm

In order to enable the HTTPS for your website, you should simply re-configure the website’s URLS to be https://www.expatinbacolod.com/

After that you can add the following redirect rule to the .htaccess file of your website:

RewriteEngine On

RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off

RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]

This should be enough for your website to work with the certificate.

I pull no punches in writing about a web hosting service that sucks! And, I mean truly sucks! That service (oxymoron) sounds like it is the opposite of ‘Come Mummy’ 🙂 I now have two active websites.
