Why You May Miss Me

Miss me? I hope you do, at least, a little.

Don’t worry if you are the worrying kind, I’m fine. It’s just that the blog may not be as active as usual for a couple of reasons. One, I’m changing hosting provider and that may result in some downtime but hopefully, it won’t be for long.

Secondly, I’m so damn busy! Like all of us, I have to prioritise and unfortunately something has got to give. The thing that comes lowest on my list of priorities is this blog. Shock! Horror! It’s not that I don’t like chatting to and engaging with all you folks out there – I do enjoy it – but somethings pay the bills and this blog doesn’t fall into that category.

It, the blog, therefore, takes bottom place on the list. It was next to bottom until recently but the former holder of that title has now dissipated into thin air owing to the fact that the client involved in the former bottom place believed he was entitled to  priority treatment. No, he wasn’t as the priorities are my own creative writing each and every time, followed closely by my regular decently paid freelance writing work.

That’s why I am busy. I have just pressed the “publish” button on the “How to Drive Like an Idiot in Bacolod” and formatting it for eBooks for Amazon etc. is time-consuming.

Then I’m on to my second draft of “Operation Julie: Inside and Undercover”, my memoir about my undercover cop days. That’s involved more re-writes than I envisaged, I suppose that’s because I’m coming at it with ‘fresh eyes.’

On top of all that I have completed eight 1000 word articles for my regular client who pays well.

None of this takes into account various writing ideas and books that I am keen to progress.

Hey! I’m not complaining. I don’t even know why I’m explaining all of this as I’m sure those of you who write face similar issues of time management.

Maybe the reason I am explaining is for the benefit of those who think writing is easy. And, there are some who think a writer is able to write about anything. Some writers can do that. Most copywriters do just that. I have studied copywriting and tried my hand at it. It’s not for me. I am unable to get excited about toothpaste or anti-aging creams especially if I’m not convinced about some of the claims made about the products.

I write with soul and passion. I care about the things I write about. That’s me.

Maybe I’m different?

No human can truly live without soul and passion. The two side by side raise their hands together to find what the other cannot reach alone.

Looking forward to those next posts… whenever you get back to writing them; and visiting via Facebook! Happy writing, my friend!

I would love to hear from you
